One Day Technical Seminar on Good Quality Practices held

Mr .Salim Veljee, Director, Food and Drugs Administration – Goa has formally inaugurated one day fully loaded technical seminar on "Good Quality Practices" for the  technical personnel  and scientists across pharmaceutical industries in Goa. He called up on Industries to utilize such training programs to update the knowledge of their staff to remain competitive in International Markets where India has major player in providing for cheap highest quality generic formulations to various countries in EU and US.

On the same occasion Mr.Cesar Menezes, President of GCCI and Managing Director of Wallace Pharmaceuticals Limited launched official website of Goa Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers’ Association

The seminar was conducted at Hotel Mandovi on 17^th April 2010 with renowned resource personalities from Regulatory and Industry namely Mr.Kapil Bhargava, Retired Deputy Drugs Controller, West Zone, Ms. Previz Menesse , Ex- Associate Quality Director from Sanofi Aventis, Mr.J Siphamalini, Chairman of IDMA Technical Committee and Director of  Bee Pharmo Labs, Dr.Anjali Angachekar, Managing Director of Paramount General Hospital, Mumbai and Dr.Hemant Mondkar, Head of QA – Teva India Private Mimited , Mumbai. Over 100 scientific personnel from different companies, Drug Control Department and Pharmacy College attended this program.

The speakers covered various topics on Quality Practices in the laboratory including preparedness for regulatory inspections. Out of specifications OOS/ Out of Trends OOT was dealt in the depth which is most important area for current inspections from MHRA and US FDA , regulatory agencies from UK and US.

The seminar program was compeered by Mr.Suresh Kamath, Secretary of the association and Dr.Mansingh Shingte, Associate Director of Sanofi-Synthelabo R& Center.

Mr.A K Burman, Vice President of the association proposed a vote of thanks.
